To Our Community

Hello, everyone! Igbohistory is a community, and though our mission is to create and share valuable content, we want to make sure that each and every one of us feels heard and seen in these trying times. These past few months have been difficult for all of us globally: a pandemic; an economic crisis; and now, more recently, streaks of racist, anti-black police violence in the diaspora coupled with incidents of sexual violence against women in Nigeria. We stand in solidarity with all people, whether at home in Africa or in the diaspora, who are struggling against systems of injustice. Black lives matter. Rape culture is abhorrent and we must continue to clamor and hold our institutions accountable for protecting victims’ rights. We urge you all onwards. As a platform, we recognize and will continue to embrace our role in this struggle to tell more stories of our excellence, rich history, and vibrant culture. O ga-adi nma.#igbohistory
