Golden Renaissance

Acclaimed for being the “golden renaissance" of modern, post-Biafran Igbo society, the 1970s was an era of dramatic change and cultural, political and economic revival for the Igbo which saw the birth of a wealth of new socio-cultural patterns, music styles, and political and intellectual movements that have grown to become definitive of the modern Igbo identity. In celebrating the significance of the tremendous impact which these mere ten years have had on Igbo history, the next few posts will be part of the new series “The Seventies: Uwa Ochie” (Trans: The Seventies: The Olden Days).#igbohistory
